This is my third Timex watch. I have an Ironman one and an old digital one that is thirteen years old which still works (I have only replaced the battery once too)! Timex just astounds me at how much better quality their watches for such a reasonable price. I have a thing for watches but I can say with confidence that the Timex ones work perfectly (I have had multiple problems with Swiss Army and Tissot, which were a lot more money too, go figure).

Have gone swimming with it without any problems. INDIGLO feature was a huge plus for me as well.
AWESOME watch for a great price.

This is an ‘outdoor’ watch? – CAM –
I bought this watch less than 3 months ago. Since then it has been put through relatively mild conditions but nothing even close to extreme. Within a month, the paint on the rotating bezel began to wear/chip off. And today I bumped it on my linoleum countertop (not exactly a hard surface!) and it shattered the mineral crystal between 7 and 8 o’clock (see user-submitted pictures above).. Hardly what I’d call an ‘outdoor’ watch, this thing didn’t even last a few months. I’m pretty sure the 5-star reviewers on here reviewed their watch immediately after receiving it, prior to subjecting it to any kind of legitimate outdoor use, so disregard reviews talking about “how cool the watch looks” etc. This watch does look cool, for about a week before the paint starts to come off. In terms of the whole Timex brand, I’d just go with something better, this stuff is just cheap overpriced garbage.

Well… – Hiker 101 –
I got the product and wore it for a couple of days with not a thing that went wrong. Then the funniest thing happened! It started FOGGING UP! I was upset with the thing and banished it to the bottom of the closet. The lady then got me a better watch…

Pros: looks great, Does not glow like a nuisance, really stylish black, Watch bezel does not move unless you move it.

Cons: the glass or what ever is not recessed it actually sticks up over the bezel so it gets scratched easily, it fogged on the 4th day or something, the strap is very flimsy.

Looked around for a similar product with a large display, metal case and luminous dial and found them to be substantially higher priced. This watch is exactly what I am looking for and I’m glad I found it in a Timex as all my previous watches were Timex and I have never been disappointed. I’m sure I will enjoy years of use with this watch.

Excellent everyday or work watch if you work outdoors. Typical Timex reliability at a reasonable price with the indiglo that I love. I also really like the unique strap design that keeps the strap end pinned to my wrist.

So I’ve worn this watch for about 6 months now, so I have a pretty good idea of its capabilities and limitations.
PROS: It looks great (minus the band). Obviously it’s going to be rugged since it’s a G-Shock. The hour and minute hands stand out well against the black background. While the hands get in the way of the digital information, it’s only slightly and you can still make out all the details. The back-light is ample. It strikes a good balance between displaying information and not blinding you.
CONS: Setting the analog hands is cumbersome, but not impossible. It just takes some time and patience. The band has an alligator-type pattern on it, which I do NOT like. They should have continued the resin material down to the clasp from the bezel. I deduct one style point from the star rating because of the band. It’s borderline tacky.

Ok, so I wear a Burberry most of the time, which is a beautiful entry level high end (if that makes any sense) watch. My dream watch is an IWC Portuguese automatic, and I will never wear a “designer” watch, so I know what a good timepiece is. This watch costs less than two adults going to a movie nowadays! I can’t imagine what drawbacks it would take to get less than five stars. This provides reasonably easy to see and accurate time. Setting/resetting is simple and straightforward. They say it will last 10 years; if it only lasts one year it’s a bargain. Hell, gold is bouncing around at 00 an ounce now — and gold won’t let you know what time it is! This watch is extremely light, you put it on in two seconds and you can forget about it. Bang it up, scratch it, drop it in a tankard of beer, lose it, who cares?

As watches go, it’s not perfect. I’d prefer it to be just a little bigger. I’d like a little more contrast between the face and hands to easier discern the time. The date window is just a bit too small for some older eyes. The nylon/velcro band will absorb sweat — and stink over time. So it will need to be washed, simple enough. Any kind of soap and warm water will do it. Dry overnight. One highlight, so to speak, is the lighted dial. When you press that button, it LIGHTS up! For me, that means when I’m in that dark movie theater and bored with what’s on the screen, I can take a solid peek at the time to see how much more boredom I’ll have to endure.

If I were going to the dance, I’d wear my “good” watch. If I were going to war, I’d wear this one!

I picked this up from Walmart near the same cost. With all the watches to look through in the carousel, I kept coming back to this one. I needed something to replace a nice simple Timex that broke after a couple years.

The timex was great and still works but rendered useless as the light function / button broke. I now use it as a dog collar on my sister-in-law’s Chihuahua. (Now a true “watch dog”)

The selling points for me, seemingly durable, extremely comfortable, small but significant face, much less intrusive and bulky as compared to the old dog collar. The light is fantastic and extremely bright. I even use it to light my path through the house at night without the need of turning on overhead lights. (going from sofa to bed without disturbing anyone)

The price and styling cant be beat. Overall, a fantastic durable, comfortable bargain of a watch. I will be wearing this 24/7 just as I did the old dog collar

I don’t believe ANY of the negative reviews. They are all made up junk. I don’t understand why someone would attack such a great watch. I have been buying watches for over 20 years and this is one of the best built watches I’ve ever found. Casio usually delivers more for your money than other brands I won’t mention. (But I’ve written good reviews for that other brand, too.) Their watches are also more reliable, on par with brands that cost 2 or 3 times as much. I admit I don’t like all of the styles of their watches, but I’ve never had a Casio fail me. Tough as nails, too. The kind of resin Casio has developed in their wristwatches has been adapted by many other watchmakers, including military contractors.

I’m a first year student nurse, and I was told that I needed to start wearing a watch to clinical in order to measure pulse, respiration, etc. The watches at the bookstore were predominantly feminine (as a male, I’m just not into wearing a purple or pink wristwatch – call me crazy!). So I looked elsewhere.
The faculty recommended an analog watch with an easy to read second hand over a digital, and I totally agree with them: I think an analog is easier to read for vitals than digital. But I digress.

This little Casio fits the bill perfectly: It has an easy-on Velcro strap that’s quite comfortable to wear for extended periods, its water resistant (good for frequent hand washers like me), is very light weight, and overall looks classy and simplistic. Other pluses include the luminescence that stays on 3-4 seconds after the button is released, and an easily-read white second hand that stands out well against the black face of the watch. Perhaps the biggest plus is it’s price. For right around twenty bones I get a usable and comfortable watch. Time will tell (no pun intended) whether or not its as rugged as my old digital Timex. But for the student nurse on a budget, it fits the bill.
